How does the city feel?

Where do our personal freedoms begin in public spaces, and where do they abruptly end? Insider tips in the city? Yes, every city has them, but what makes them special is not so much the place itself, but our stories, our knowledge, which makes a place special: Going to bars in the Maxglan district on the renaturalized Glan River? Or playing billiards in peace on the outskirts of town? Bringing your own food to a restaurant, or finally being able to use a public toilet in peace as a transgender person, or finding a unique place of comfort in Lehen? This is what happens in SEEDS.
SEEDS are little story seeds, buds, roots that we discovered with interview partners in the city.

...and where are our personal free spaces?

SEEDS is a series of AR interventions in public spaces that show places of personal stories, experiences, and advice that gold extra has compiled in interviews. The interviews explored the question of where our interview partners feel accepted, loved, free, or particularly safe and secure, and where the opposite is true. These interviews ultimately result in a map of different seeds that draw individual city geographies.
The first publication does not mark the end of SEEDS, but rather the beginning of a longer project in which gold extra aims to collect stories and points about favorite places and create a city tour of sights that have grown out of our everyday urban lives.

Presentation and Prototype

SEEDS will be presented publicly together with the city mapping project by the artist duo Kronberger & Kronberger as part of the Digital Spring Festival of ARGEkultur, which is financing the development of the prototype. At this point, we and Kronberger & Kronberger would also like to create an opportunity for a joint discussion about how city life can be brought up, how many insider tips people want to reveal, and where the people of Salzburg really want to go swimming now.
